Hijab Story

Hijab Story

Baz is a Dadpreneur with two teenage daughters who are both heavily into sports. Alongside his daughters, he has developed a collection of two affordable sports hijabs to encourage more Muslim girls in schools and beyond to take part in sports and stay healthy.

The idea and journey began when one of Baz’s daughters, a keen athlete, told her dad that some of her friends didn’t want to join her in school sports activities because they felt uncomfortable wearing their everyday hijabs during PE lessons. Her friends explained that their usual hijabs – long scarves wrapped several times around the head and pinned in place – were impractical for sport. Not only did they become too hot and sweaty during physical activity, but they also posed a health and safety risk.

One evening, Baz and his daughters sat down to brainstorm a solution – and Hijab Active was born.

The specially designed sports hijab was created for ease and comfort, catering to all girls and women who want to be active. Hijab Active comes with several key features including sweat-wicking fabric, anti-odour and anti-bacterial properties, breathability, and it’s fully washable.

It’s essential that all girls and women have the opportunity to enjoy sport in comfort and confidence. Hijab Active is designed to help them do just that, while also observing their religious values. At its heart, Hijab Active is about promoting inclusivity in sports and breaking down the social and cultural barriers that still exist.

We hope Hijab Active helps uncover the next generation of brilliant young sportswomen!
